A short trip to West Virginia

The doctor that I work for on Thursday's was out of town this week so mom, Hadley and I decided to take a quick trip to West Virginia.  We left last night around 7:00 p.m. and drove through the remainder of the night.  We got into Charleston around 2:00 a.m. this morning, checked into our hotel and went to bed.  We are staying at the Embassy Suites, which is located right downtown, for only $50 a night!  I love Priceline!

Since we got in so late last night, we slept in this morning.  When we got up, we ate breakfast and played around in the hotel room for a little bit.

Hadley talked on the phone...

...and ate some cottage cheese.

After we got ready and relaxed for a little bit, we headed across the street to the Charleston Town Center shopping mall.

While we were walking through the mall, I was looking for the baby Gap while mom and Hadley were following behind me.  I heard mom start laughing and turned around to see my daughter help herself to visiting the Easter bunny.  She was squealing and jumping up and down with excitement.  Of course, I had to pay for her to see him since she was already inside the ropes and holding his hand.  She wasn't afraid of him at all.  She kept giving him high fives and hugging him, however, when he tried to hug her, she put her "stop" hand out, shook it back and forth and said, "No, No!"  I've got a sassy lil' girl on my hands.  Anyways, she didn't want to sit on the Easter bunny's lap, so I had to hold her while we sat beside him.  All in all, Hadley had a great first visit with the Easter bunny!

After we got down shopping, we headed back to the hotel room to relax for a little bit before we had to meet Uncle Mick and Aunt Kay for dinner at Chili's. (which was also just a walk away from our hotel!)  Hadley had a fun time goofing around in the bunny hat that she got during her visit with the Easter bunny.

After dinner, Uncle Mick and Aunt Kay took Hadley shopping for a new swimsuit and a sun hat.  On our way back to the side of the mall that was across the street from our hotel, we ran into this merry-go-round.  Another little girl wanted to ride too, so I paid for one ride and her parents paid for the other.  The girls got to ride twice by sharing their rides!  How nice was that?

We headed back to the hotel and went swimming for about an hour before sneaking off to bed.  It was a great first day in West Virginia!
