Fun Times Up North!

Austin took Hadley up to northern Michigan to spend some time with his family at their cabin.  The weekend was spent sledding, snowmobiling and playing in the snow!  I had to work, and was super jealous of the fun times they had, including Hadley's first snowmobile ride. Check out the pictures and videos below:

Miss Hadley

First Time Sledding!

We took Hadley sledding for the first time tonight and she had a blast!  We didn't have to travel too far, because there's a nice sized hill right outside our back door.  The only creepy thing is that when you sled down the hill you end up on the iced over lake.  I'm not a big fan of going out on the lake, but it was definitely solid after the super cold weather we had last week.  Hadley is such a brave little girl.  She got right on her sled and rode down the hill time after time all by herself.  She seemed to like going up the hill better than down the hill though, and she giggled and clapped the whole way.

She fell down and couldn't get up...

On her sled for the first time!

Hadley hit a snowbank and fell forward off her sled, getting ice on her face...whoops!

Daddy cleaned it off while mommy took pictures.  (how mean!)

No ice, but still mad!  One minute later she was back on her sled...smiling.

Here are some videos that we took while we were out playing this evening:

Why can't I do this at home?

I got my hair done tonight at Expressions Salon and Day Spa here in Warsaw.  After my hi/lolites and cut, I asked my beautician if she could straighten my hair, but give it nice soft curls.  I wanted healthy pretty looking hair.  She did an awesome job, and the pictures below are the proof.  Unfortunately I probably will not be able to replicate this at home.  Not sure if it's lack of talent, lack of ultra nice products or lack of patience?

Anyways, here is the proof that I CAN and DO have nice pretty hair!

First Day at Daycare

Today was Hadley's first day at daycare.  I suddenly realize that it's a bad idea to post where she goes as this is a public blog and anyone can view it, so the name will remain anonymous for her safety!  I will tell you however, that it's a christian based daycare and the staff are very friendly and attentive.  I am hoping that in time she will grow to love going and playing with the other kids.  As for today though, this was not the case.  Austin dropped her off around 8:00 a.m. and he said that she easily took Miss Sarah's hand, who led her to the breakfast table and she started to eat while watching the kids play.  Austin took a half day to help ease the transition.  He said that when he returned around 12:30 p.m. to pick her up, she ran to him squealing and smiling, but he also got the dirty look that sternly read "Dad, where have you been and why did you leave me here?"  The report from the daycare staff was that it took her about 20 minutes to realize that Austin had left that morning.  She then cried off and on throughout the remainder of the day until he came back.  This broke my heart!  My poor baby girl.  I am now dreading next Thursday, but also know that each week will bring us closer to her acceptance of this new adventure.

She looks so sleepy...

New Job!

I officially stated my new job at Interventional Pain Consultants today.  I have been assisting Dr. Nolan every Thursday for the last month on a PRN basis through Kosciusko Community Hospital.  I am now employed as their new part time Radiologic Technologist, running the c-arm during his pain procedures.  I'm excited about my new position because it will give our household some extra spending money.  When I quit working in Indy, I will only be working one day per week.  Of course this means that Hadley will have to start going to daycare one day per week as well.  We are hoping however, that the one day will allow her some socialization and allow me a little time out of the house!

I wear my sunglasses...

I wear my sunglasses during the day
so I can, so I can
stir eggs in a bowl on the table

I wear my sunglasses during the day
so I can, so I can
rock out my coat and hat

Ok, so not very funny, but that was my attempt at changing the lyrics to "Sunglasses at Night" by Corey Hart to fit our blog post.  If you've ever paid attention to the actual words to the song, they're kinda CrAzY, so I don't think I did too bad!
