Chili Cook-Off

We went to our first ever chili cook-off today in Wabash.  We didn't really know what to expect at first, but ended up having a GREAT time!  We definitely plan to go again next year.

We tried a lot of chili in the couple of hours that we were there...for some reason, Hadley still preferred her milk!

There were tons of chili vendors there...including Ghetto Booty Chili...who knew?

When we left the chili cook-off we went to the home of one of Austin's co-worker's parents' to view their "museum" of automated musical instruments.  I have to admit - it was an amazing site!

Tongue-Tied

It was discovered shortly after Hadley was born that she was tongue-tied.  After much research and heartache, Austin and I decided to have her tongue clipped.  As hard as it was to let Dr. Pitts clip it, we knew it was best in order to reduce the possibility of speech problems in the future.

I knew it wasn't going to be a very fun day, so I put a fun outfit on her in hopes that it would help cheer her up!  It's the "taggie" outfit she got from Grandpa Mark and Grandma Kim.

These were the comfort tools for the day!

Hadley was upset after the clipping, but for good reason.  We both cried and I gave her lots of love and kisses!

After a little time had passed, we had our quiet peaceful little girl back!

A very special blanket!

Today we had an unexpected visit from my great aunt and Hadley's great-great aunt June.  She stopped by the house to bring Hadley an afghan that she handmade for her.  Aunt June makes them for all of the new babies in the family, and we are very appreciative of the cute one she made for Hadley!

Over Stimulation?

Today Hadley had a lot of fun playing in her rainforest gym.  I put her wrist and feet rattlers on her as well.  I think she might have been a little overwhelmed?

I love Signature Studio!

I wish our scanner was hooked up so that I could scan the pictures we had taken at Signature Studio in Winona Lake.  Since the scanner is in the garage, still in a box, I decided to take a picture of the picture!  Hmm...not too bad!

We bought the "babies first year" package which included a maternity session and newborn through 1 year of age, taken every 3 months.  These are two of the three pictures we have hanging in our basement hallway.  I love them!

Milestone...the first of many!

Hadley used her hands for the first time tonight! We were watching the Vikings-Packers game while she was playing on her rainforest gym. Austin looked down and said, "Hey, check it out!" I looked down and she had grabbed the monkey and pulled it off the round hook (with her left hand...hmm?).  She was griping it in her tiny little hand. Wow! What an amazing feeling to see her accomplish something for the first time! We loved it!"

Hangin' Out!

It was an awesome fall evening, so Austin and I decided to try out our new infant carrier while taking a stroll along the shoreline around our lake.  Hadley seemed to like it a lot!

Precious time with Great Grandma Wise!

I want to make sure that Hadley gets to spend time with her Great Grandma Wise, so today we went to the nursing home for a little visit!  While we were there, we participated in the "sing-a-long."

How precious is this?!

Grandma loves to hold Hadley!

I just happened to catch these shots while Hadley was resting in Grandma's room!  Grandma is proud of her stats: 4 children, 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren!  Wow!

Happy 2nd Birthday Alex!

We went to cousin Alex's 2nd birthday party this evening in Michigan.  It was nice to get to see family and watch Alex celebrate!

Trying to get a good picture of Hadley with her cousin Brynn - take 3!

Austin...caught off guard by the camera!

Grandpa Mark with both his grand-daughters...

Grandpa and Grandma Glessner enjoying the party!

Hadley giving a smile to Aunt Barb!

Jodie, Brynn, Me and Hadley, enjoying girl time on the couch!

And finally...I'm in a picture with my little sweet pea!  Yeah!
