Warsaw's "First Friday" Pet Parade

With the theme Great American Picnic, Warsaw hosted it's "First Friday" celebration today.  The idea is to promote the downtown area and bring the community together.  There were several fun things planned for this evening such as a watermelon eating contest, live music, pet parade, story telling, Optimist singers and a concert in Central Park.  When Austin got out of work we headed downtown for the pet parade.  We thought Hadley would love it, because she seems to LOVE dogs and cats.  She couldn't have cared less.  I think she's still too little to pick things out of a large crowd.  She's much better with one-on-one things right now.  Oh well, it was still fun and great to participate in a community event!

Heading over to the couthouse lawn...

The pet parade was sponsored by the Warsaw Animal League.  Several dogs and cats that are waiting to be adopted participated in the parade along with others that already have happy homes!

Below are several pictures I took while we were waiting for the pet parade to start.

We got there a little early, it was hot and Hadley was starting to get bored.  Good thing the parade started a few minutes after I took this picture!

The winner for best costume went to "Dorothy" from the Wizard of Oz.  She was a very cute little girl and we loved her costume!

After the pet parade was over we ate at Mad Anthony's Brewery to help support one of our downtown restaurants.  It was an exhausting evening for Hadley!
