Austin and I have been looking for a cheap pontoon boat to tool around on this next summer. It's actually harder than you think to find a cheap one that comes with real seats, not make-shift plastic chairs! I finally found one on Craig's List, so Austin and I went to look at it last Friday. It's actually being stored at the local marina right up the road! It's winterized, which means that it has some tough "shrink wrap" around it, so Austin only got to check out the deck and the motor, which were easily accessible. I managed to squirm my body inside the shrink wrap and get a VERY small look at the interior (with very large earrings on - just for the record!). I guess we'll see what we got this spring when we call them to drop it in the water!
This is what I think it's going to look like (there were no pictures in the sale ad). Now don't be jealous of the stellar teal and navy blue colors! When you buy a boat in the winter, you're more or less buying on faith. Let's hope it's a good one!
Stats: 1994 Sea Nymph
24 foot pontoon
50 hp Evinrude motor
(Service records and a new deck!)
